NSTDA and AIT have developed CarTalkWaaS to utilize data store, exchange or transfer services among the vehicles. These data may include traffic information, news, and commercial medias. Vehicular cloud services are made of distributed computing and networking resources among the participating vehicles. The APIs for developer are available.
ITS Thailand recieved the research grant from Office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commision to preform the testing of IEEE802.11P (WAVE) in Bangkok and Suburb area. We performed the field operational testing of the in-house developed VANET protocols (Vehicle Ad Hoc Network) on top of the WAVE. The results of the RSSI, the Throughput and the Packet Loss varied by a packet size, a transmission rate, a distance between vehicles, speed and direction of vehicle in detail have been reported. By the result, we recommend the limit of distance between vehicles for V2X at 300 meter in urban area and at 600 meter in suburb area. We also found that the speed of vehicles did not effect the communication. Finally, the practical testing of V2X on public bus has shown that the VANET could communication between buses and between bus and bus stop successfully.
